Mi Flowers on National Television: Our MBC Interview
Share
It isn't every day that the cameras come to the nursery. So when the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation (MBC), our national television station, reached out to feature Mi Flowers, we were both honoured and a little nervous to share our story with the whole island.
The MBC team spent the morning with us at our Camp de Masque Pavé nursery, walking among the growing tunnels and asking the questions so many of you ask us too: How did Mi Flowers begin? What does it take to grow healthy plants in the Mauritian climate? And why does bringing greenery into homes and gardens matter so much?
Sharing our roots
During the interview, we spoke about how Mi Flowers grew from a passion for plants into a working nursery that supplies homes, offices and gardens across the island. We showed how our team propagates cuttings, nurtures seedlings, and hand-selects every plant before it finds a new home. From hardy favourites like the ZZ and snake plant to our exotic orchids and flowering hibiscus, each one carries a little of the care we put into it.
We also talked about something close to our hearts: encouraging Mauritians of all ages to reconnect with nature. Whether it's a first succulent on a windowsill or a garden bursting with bougainvillea, every plant is a small step toward a greener, calmer island.
Thank you, MBC
We are grateful to the MBC team for their warmth and curiosity, and for giving local growers like us a platform to share our work with a national audience. It was a proud moment for everyone at Mi Flowers.
To those of you who discovered us through the broadcast — welcome! We would love to help you find the right plant for your space. Visit us at the nursery or browse our collection online, and don't hesitate to reach out with your plant questions. We're always happy to help things grow.
