Ananas (Pineapple Plant)

Locally grown pineapple plants — a tropical classic that bears sweet fruit right on your veranda or in your garden.

Our Ananas plants are grown at our Camp de Masque Pavé nursery from locally selected varieties known for their sweet, fragrant fruit. Surprisingly easy to grow in the Mauritian climate, pineapple plants make a striking ornamental specimen while producing delicious fruit. Available in various sizes throughout the season.

Care

• Light: Full sun — at least 6 hours daily
• Water: Moderate; allow soil to dry between waterings — drought tolerant once established
• Soil: Well-draining, slightly acidic sandy mix
• Difficulty: Easy
• Pet friendly: Yes

Care tips

• Feed monthly with a balanced fertilizer to encourage fruiting.
• After harvesting, the plant produces offshoots (ratoons) that will fruit again.
• Place a ripe apple near the plant to trigger flowering — ethylene gas induces blooming.
