Bird's Nest Ferns are spectacular foliage plants with large, glossy, undivided fronds that emerge from a central nest-like rosette. Unlike delicate lacy ferns, they are robust and forgiving, thriving in the warm, humid conditions of Mauritian homes. Each variety has its own unique frond texture and character — from the ruffled Victor to the dramatically crinkled Hurricane and the deeply ridged Crocodyllus.

• Light: Bright to medium indirect light; tolerates lower light — avoid direct sun
• Water: Keep soil consistently moist but never waterlogged; water around the edges, not into the central rosette
• Humidity: High humidity preferred; mist regularly or place on a pebble tray
• Temperature: 18–27°C; protect from cold draughts and temperatures below 15°C

Care tips

• Never pour water directly into the central rosette — water around the base to prevent rot.
