The Golden Pothos, also known as the Money Plant, is one of the world's most popular and forgiving houseplants. Its glossy golden-variegated leaves trail beautifully from shelves and hanging baskets or climb readily on a moss pole. Tolerant of neglect, low light and irregular watering — the perfect plant for beginners and busy households alike.

Care

• Light: Bright indirect light; tolerates low light — variegation is most vivid in brighter conditions
• Water: Every 1–2 weeks; when top 2–3 cm of soil is dry
• Soil: Well-draining potting mix to prevent root rot
• Temperature: 18–24°C; avoid cold draughts and temperatures below 10°C
• Difficulty: Easy
• Pet friendly: No — toxic to cats and dogs if ingested

Care tips

• Allow the top 2–3 cm of soil to dry between waterings — overwatering is the main cause of problems.
• Prune regularly to keep the plant bushy and compact; cuttings root easily in water.
• More light = more golden variegation; move to a brighter spot if leaves are turning plain green.
• Wipe leaves occasionally to remove dust and keep them glossy.
• ⚠️ Keep away from cats and dogs — Pothos is toxic if ingested by pets.
