Our Hawaiian Local Hibiscus combines the dramatic oversized blooms of the Hawaiian variety with the vigour and climate-adaptability of locally propagated stock. Grown at our Camp de Masque Pavé nursery, these plants are already acclimatised to Mauritian conditions and will establish quickly in your garden. A vigorous, sun-loving shrub that rewards generous feeding and watering with near-continuous flowering throughout the warm season.

• Water: Consistently moist, well-draining soil; daily watering for potted plants in hot weather

Care tips

• Feed every two weeks during the growing season with a high-potassium fertilizer to fuel abundant flowering.
• Water deeply and consistently — never let the soil dry out completely, especially in pots during hot weather.
• Prune once a year to remove dead wood, shape the plant and encourage vigorous new flowering growth.
• Pinch back new growth tips to encourage a bushier shape and more flowering branches.
• Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
